How to Delete Apps and Pages from your iPhone's Home Screen

For years, Android owners have been able to hide apps from their home screens. Now, as long as you run iOS 14 or newer, iPhone owners can delete and hide applications and pages from the home screen and put everything in the Application Library.

The Application Library is the Apple version of the application drawer. This is available on the last page of the home screen. Here, you will find all installed applications sorted in various categories. You can also see a list of all applications from the Search field.

Now all applications are available in the Application Library, it raises questions. Why should you also save applications that you rarely use on the home screen? You can do this in two ways. You can delete certain applications from the home screen (will still appear in Spotlight Search and Application Library), or you can delete entire pages and hide all applications from that page in an instant.

Remove or Hide Applications from your iPhone’s Home Screen

First, let’s see how you can delete or hide individual applications from your iPhone’s home screen (without removing them).

To do this, tap and hold the application you want to delete. From the options menu, select the “Remove Application” option.

In the delete application menu, you will see a new option. Here, select the “Delete From Home Screen” option.

The application will immediately disappear from your iPhone’s home screen. You can go to the Application Library (by swiping to the far right page) and look for it to launch the application.

Delete or Hide Pages from your iPhone’s Home Screen

If you are like us, you might have several pages containing applications that you almost never visit. If you are accustomed to launching applications from Spotlight Search, you might want to delete all pages between your first page and the Application Library.

To do this, tap and hold on the blank part of your iPhone’s home screen to enter editing mode. Now, tap Page Points found above the dock at the bottom of the device screen.

This will bring up a new UI that lists all the pages in the box. Tap the check mark at the bottom of the page to delete it. You can do this for as many pages as you want (except for the first page).

You can come back here at any time to reactivate the page. After finishing editing, tap the “Finish” button.

After returning to the home screen, you will see that the page dots at the bottom of the screen decrease in number. You can now quickly swipe to the Application Library page.
